Calling All Cover Bands
Grand Final
Thursday 16th of September 2010Featuring the Venue Winners from the:
- Hallam Hotel
- Monash Hotel
- Royal Exchange Hotel
- Stamford Inn Hotel
Since June this year the Calling All Cover Bands 2 competition heats have been running at four venues with over 40 Melbourne cover band battling it out for their place at the Grand Final where they will perform for a chance to win $10,000.
The Venue Winner from each hotel will be appearing at the Grand Final in an order drawn throughout the night and judged by music industry representatives. Their judging score and your vote will determine the winner of the major prize.
The competition has been a positive networking experience for both the venues and the cover bands. The up-and-coming bands have gained invaluable industry experience and the professional working bands have used the competition as a platform to promote themselves.
The competing bands will be performing on the Hallam Hotel’s large touring stage that has seen the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Grinspoon, Baby Animals, Shannon Noll, Noiseworks, Rogue Traders and Gyroscope before them.
We welcome you and your friends to come down and vote for your favourite band of the night!

Live Band Friday Nights
Come down and check out our live bands on a Friday night. We like to mix things up a bit and offer different cover bands each week. Lately we have booked Vex, Moment of Fate and 3Style Acoustic Trio.
Our bands cover the latest and greatest pub n' party tunes and love getting to know the locals. Entry is free, just don't forget to carry your photo ID with you (licensed premise).
Our friendly staff and security are always happy to see you and share a laugh. It's heaps of fun at the Hallam Hotel!

Bachata Lessons and Social Dancing
Commences EVERY WEEK from Thursday the 9th September 2010
Bachata Inc. is a Latin dance company based in Melbourne and directed by Leonardo Quiroz. The company is bringing both Beginner and Intermediate Bachata Classes to the Hallam Hotel's Mezz Lounge every Thursday from the 9th of September, 2010. Leonardo encourages people to experience passion and sensuality behind the art of movement and discover fluency in music interpretation.
Inspire yourself to join a class and it won't be long before you realise that the Bachata is not just about dancing. Whether it be for your personal fitness, a new discovery or a social outlet- just remember... It's all for the love of Bachata! ...
Beginner @ 8pm-9pm
Intermediate @ 9pm - 10pm
Social Dancing from 10pm - 1am*
Bachata Lessons Pricing: $15 for a class or 2 on the same night for $20* Entry is $5 for social only patrons or free if you participate in a class on the same night.
